Exams Ka Matlab...

What son's exams mean to me (like Kotak's latest ad on "Money ka Matlab"..we love that !)

- First time that he is taking proper exams in school, so I am feeling all jittery. After so many years, the same butterflies in the tummy feeling !

- When I finished college, I was like "Appada. No more exams and no more tension. Good riddance to all that". I was wrong. You live everything through your children again. What affects them, affects you equally, if not more. The realisation sinks in later that you absolutely cannot do anything about it. After the best of effort to help your child, you can only be there as a pillar of support.

-Keeping him in good health, making sure he eats, sleeps and plays well in the midst of the studying.

-Giving him lot of confidence, assuring him that what matters more is the hardwork, learning and understanding, in this process.

-Setting worksheets for him to practise and asking tricky questions- for me to make sure that he has understood his concepts well.

-Browsing online to see if I can give any additional information on the subjects that he is reading. Value add, you see :-).

Oh...in case, after reading my exaggerated post, you thought that my son taking the board exams, I would like to remind you readers that he is in the 4th grade and I am a dramatic person :-)
