Explosion
...might be the right term to use to describe some of the study sessions where Sooraj and I sit together. Everything starts off peacefully, then his day dreaming, my restlessness to get back to other tasks, his questions which I think are silly, my impulse to smack him in the head with his pencil box and fling the notebook to the far corner of the room, then actually reminding myself that I am an adult or rather his mother, taking a deep breath to calm down and then explain in the smoothest tone what I expect of him, repeated mistakes by him, me loosing cool and exploding, he in tears, verbal battles, slamming of doors, he flinging himself on the bed in self pity and me completely stressed out thinking that this is just the beginning.
That's the reason why I so love this program on Zee Cafe called Parenthood. The validation that every family with kids has it's own insane and explosive moments, is such a big help to carry on to the next day !

Hi Ranj - so true. My sister told me the other day that she and my bil hardly ever fight now that their kids are off to college and are more grown up. She says half the stress we go through is part and parcel of raising kids, nothing unusual.
I don't know why my comment on your previous post did not show up. It has happened before as well. Hope it shows up this time!

Noon ! The fights are between son and me mostly...yeah in the calmer times, it is clear that this is how things will be, as it is all a part of the natural growth process :-)
